JuniorsScholarshipsEach year the NNWGA donates $1000.00 to award scholarships to four high school girls in Northern Nevada. The 2004 recipients were:
These scholarships are paid to the university or college chosen by the recipient through Junior Connection Inc.
High School Girl's Golf Instructional ClinicThe NNWGA provides instruction on the Rules of Golf to High School Girls Golf Teams.
Girls Junior America's Cup DonationsMember clubs from NNWGA collect money donated by their individual members to help defray the expenses of the girls who represent Northern Nevada as a team at the annual tournament. NNWGA forwards this money to the Northern Nevada Junior Golf Association for distribution to the representatives.
Junior Connection Inc.Junior Connection Inc. is a non-profit publicly funded corporation that serves as a clearing house for scholarships in Nevada. Various organizations provide funds to Junior Connection and, following the guide lines provided by the contributors, the Board of Directors select those who will receive the scholarships for that year. Junior Connection is available to any group or individual who would like to set up a scholarship. In 2004 Junior Connection administered five separate scholarship funds: Northern Nevada Women's Golf Association Women's Southern Nevada Golf Association Nevada State Women's Golf Association Sierra Sage Men's Golf Club John Whalen-Francis Haase Junior Golf Scholarship Scholarships totaling $10500.00 were awarded to sixteen young people of Nevada to further their education. 2004 Board of Directors
The Junior Connection Board members receive no remuneration for their efforts. All donations are gratefully accepted, whether to help with the expenses of administering the scholarship funds or to add to any of the scholarship funds themselves.
